Unbridled: The Yoga & Reiki Reset
Where Horses Heal
Horses naturally respond to human body language, breath, and emotional state. Their sensitivity often mirrors what we are carrying internally, bringing awareness to tension, distraction, or calm. Their steady, grounded presence can help regulate the nervous system, encouraging a shift out of stress and into a more relaxed, connected vibration.
When we touch horses, our heart rate often slows, helping us enter a calmer state.
Studies have shown that interacting with horses can lower cortisol (the stress hormone) and increase oxytocin, which supports feelings of trust and bonding.
Horses naturally mirror human emotions and body language, helping us become more aware of our own internal state.
This co-regulation between humans and horses can help lower anxiety and promote a sense of safety and balance.
By setting aside these two hours each week, after living in a high-stress, hyper-vigilant state, you give your nervous system a chance to slow down and reset. Potentially, you may experience greater calm, mental clarity, a deeper sense of self-awareness, personal boundaries and a more balanced emotional state.
And perhaps most of all, we hope to remember that we are all connected - to each other, to the horses, to the earth, and every living being. And so it is - the knowing that we are never separate and never alone. Rather, we have a responsibility to cultivate our own inner balance and sense of peace, as well as to those around us. We are as different as the horses themselves, and to name it or set an agenda would be to limit us all. So, I have created a space where our bodies and minds can move energy and be in the present moment. I know that, with the horses as our guides, reflecting back who we are, and helping us recognize what feels true, we can all become better aligned with our individual and collective vibration.
At the heart of these experiences is a simple progression: presence leads to awareness, awareness creates connection, and connection builds both safety and healing. Horses respond to what is real in us - not what we say, but what we carry in our bodies, our breath, and our attention.
We begin by bringing awareness into the body. Through yoga and movement, you can start to notice how you hold yourself - where there is tension, where there is ease, and how subtle shifts can create big changes. This awareness becomes the foundation for communication with the horse. The clearer and more intentional the body becomes, the less effort is needed to communicate.
Breath naturally follows. It becomes a tool not only for calming the nervous system, but for influencing energy. Horses are incredibly sensitive to breath and will often respond more quickly to a shift in breathing than to physical cues. When you feel uncertain or overwhelmed, return to your breath which helps regulate both you and the horse.
The focus moves into understanding the horse. Horses live fully in the present moment. As pre animals, they are constantly aware of their surroundings and highly attuned to subtle changes in energy, tension, and focus. They reflect what is happening beneath the surface. When a horse approaches, moves away, or engages, it is a response to what is real in that moment.
This ties directly into leadership and safety. If you are distracted, tense, or disconnected, the horse may step in to create clarity or take control of the space. What might look like misbehavior is often the horse responding appropriately to a lack of clear leadership. When a person becomes calm, present, and aware, the horse softens, trusts, and follows.
Stillness is where the deeper connection begins. This is not passive - it is an active state of awareness. In moments where nothing is being asked or done, you have the special opportunity to simply be. Horses often meet people in this space, creating moments of genuine connection without effort or force.
Over time, this experience begins to regulate the nervous system. The stress, distraction, and mental noise you carry will start to settle. In the presence of the horses, many naturally release tension and reconnect with a more balanced state. This shift doesn’t stay in the pasture - it extends into how you show up in your daily life, relationships, and responsibilities.
At its core, this work is about connection. Connection to self, to the horse, and to the present moment. As you become more aware and grounded, your ability to connect deepens - not just i the pasture, but in all areas of life.
Throughout these Unbridled Experiences, the simplest reminders are often the most powerful: return to your breath, stay present, and allow the experience to unfold without forcing or expectation.
