Dear Unbridled Friend,
If you have found your way here, then you too feel the pull to come back to the healing vibration and patterns of Mother Earth. We feel and sense that there is an emotional intelligence within us where we can resurrect a deep level of intuition and full embodiment.
Being with the horses is about being present, a neutrality often hard to achieve even in meditation. When we learn the horse’s way, we shift from the over-thinking brain into a spaciousness, the disengagement of the mind where the brainwaves start to calm and a deep presence is felt between horse and human. The horses recognize our emotional patterns, and it is up to us to hear or feel what is emerging. It is the environment and the horses that can help us distill what is old and invite in what is new.
Another large part of being with horses is learning how to establish fair and firm leadership. For example, if you lead the horse, the horse may ask questions or say they are not willing to follow or is questions the alignment you have with what you have asked of them. If you are willing to have this conversation with them, then you are considering what you are holding in your body unconsciously and in that way, you are required to look at yourself to see how you are affecting the horse. Every time you are with a horse, and you are learning a lesson or getting insight, you are becoming a balanced, non-reactive leader.
Within this intentional space, we have the opportunity to shift physical movement through breathwork, yoga and reiki combined with non-verbal releases like art and music. And on this beautiful Big Island of Hawaii, we will tap into the ‘aina, the land beneath our feet (that which feeds), the mana (divine life force) and leave living a pono life (righteousness and harmony with ourselves and all things around us).
It is my intention to share the horses so anyone called can experience this sacred space with them, for the first time or as a part of a continuing journey.
The confirmation of a good life is that it is good for us, and those around us. The facilitators and skilled and soulful practioners of these experiences and me, have your highest and best in mind so you can move through your life experiencing true connection, compassion for all and a sure-footed gait beneath you. And so it is.
With much Aloha,
Samantha
